Viral Christianity Infects Computer

I am absolutely furious.

I logged on to the computer late tonight to write my blog post. I fully intended to continue with the submissive wife theme. I wanted to do a little research, pull some scripture, see what other Christians have to say about submissive wives.

I read some blog posts written by a fellow blogger as she recommended on my Wives Submit post two days ago. If you would like to read Jenny’s words, you can find them here.

Then I googled “scripture on submissive wives” and clicked on a random link that I hadn’t read yet.

Immediately, yes, immediately I had a virus. Or malware. Or a Trojan. Or some other equally obnoxious horribly infectious disease on my computer that will steal all of my banking information, passwords, logins, and will not allow me to do ANYTHING in general.

Yep. Those capital letters absolutely represent my screaming tonight.

I am furious.

I have two logins set up on my laptop. The one I’m writing on right now, and the one all of my blog posts are saved on and that I use for all internet activity. Guess which one is infected?

Guess which one doesn’t have an earlier backup on the hard drive?

Guess which blog writer isn’t a computer guru and has NO IDEA how to get that ‘Disk Antivirus Professional’ evil villain removed from her computer before it does irrevocable damage?

To make matters worse, I got this virus from a CHRISTIAN WEBSITE!!!! Now, I’m not claiming or saying that the owners/hosts of the website are responsible, but it’s very ironic that I received a virus from a Christian website.

On top of that, I don’t know what website it was. So, I run the risk of clicking that link again. Multiple people have mentioned getting the same virus from a “Christian website”, but no one has named the website.

Grrrr! How do I know which website to steer clear of in the future?

I know there is a lesson here.

Perhaps false prophets? Perhaps satan (I refuse to capitalize his name) is attacking my blog posts through this virus. New form of viral Christianity? God protecting me from bad doctrine?

I don’t understand what joy (Is that what they derive from this?) people get from infecting others hard-earned technology with such debilitating diseases. I mean, really. Can’t they use their obvious skill, talent, and intellect to do something good in the world? Why do they instead choose to make life difficult for people they don’t even know?

I wanted to read the Word of God. Instead I received malicious threats to my computer, identity, and finances.

Scripture tells me to be In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,

1 Peter 1:6-7

Let me say, Praise the Lord for giving me strength to persevere in the face of trials. Praise the Lord for protecting me from what I might have been confused or tempted by on that website. Praise the Lord for deflecting the enemies fiery darts.

I will continue this series.

Just not today.

People are being challenged, are being blessed, and are being reached. So I plan to continue.

Once I have found an antibiotic to heal my laptop.
